Acute Care Oncology Fellowship Program for Advanced Practice Providers

The postgraduate fellowship in oncology for advanced practice nurses and physocoam assistants is a new program at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James).

The program provides advanced practice clinicians the opportunity to gain first hand clinical experience and knowledge specific to oncology. Rotations include critical care, emergency department and disease specific oncology service lines.

As the only cancer program in the country that features a National Cancer Institute - designated Comprehensive Cancer Center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a free standing cancer hospital on the campus of a large public university, the OSUCCC – James provides an exciting professional learning environment that fosters excellence in patient care, education and research.

Our Relationship-Based Care Model in combination with evidence-based clinical care is the foundation of our fellowship program. The year-long fellowship includes both clinical and didactic focused study that covers the continuum of cancer care, from prevention and early detection through active treatment and on to survivorship and/or end-of-life care. During the fellowship program, participants will develop core oncology knowledge that will enable them to practice independently in any oncology acute care setting while also having the opportunity to pursue a disease specific area of focus.
