Scope of Practice: The director of nursing quality improvement leads nursing efforts across all inpatient and outpatient settings in establishing an environment that supports the professional practice of nursing as essential and integral to patient care. The director provides leadership and consultation to nursing leadership and clinical nurses regarding quality, safety and compliance.

Administrative Oversight: Delegates to and directly supervises all management and support staff within the department(s). Direct contacts include patients, families, all department personnel, physicians, other clinical and nonclinical Medical Center personnel, other directors and management staff and the community. Director reports to the OSUCCC – James’ chief nursing officer.

Qualifications: 
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
  • Master’s degree in nursing or other appropriate health-related degree required. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience including experience developing nursing standards of care, quality and/or safety initiatives.
  • Successful candidates will be skilled in program planning, project management, leading nursing and interdisciplinary teams.
