About Me

I’m a dermatologist with a primary focus on cutaneous oncology. As a Mohs micrographic surgeon, I specialize in the surgical removal of multiple types of skin cancer as well as post-surgical reconstruction. Since many skin cancers occur on cosmetically sensitive areas such as the face, I’m very proud of our very low recurrence rates and the aesthetic outcomes we can achieve after surgery.

My other clinical area of interest is in transplant dermatology. Patients who have received a transplant are on immunosuppressive medications, and these medicines can dramatically increase the risk for skin cancers. In our transplant dermatology clinics, we strive to take excellent care of this patient population, utilizing the newest and best techniques for overall skin care.

I’m an associate professor in the Division of Dermatology, where I serve as the director of the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship. My research focuses primarily on cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. Our group examines the outcomes of patients diagnosed with this common skin cancer, and we’re working to understand tumor and patient factors that affect the behavior of cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas.

I’m privileged to be able to help patients through their diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, providing each patient with an individualized care program that’s tailored to their specific needs and utilizes a team approach. For more complicated cases, we have a tumor board that combines multiple specialties across the medical system, allowing us to give patients the best possible care.
