COLUMBUS, Ohio – The second annual MoveMMORE 5K Run/Walk for Multiple Myeloma Research takes place at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 at Fred Beekman Park, located at the corner of Kenny Road and Lane Avenue. The event also includes a one-mile run/walk starting at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit multiple myeloma research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute through MMORE, a grassroots organization dedicated to multiple myeloma research and education.
The event features food, drinks, and prize drawings. All participants receive a technical race T-shirt, and awards are given to the top three finishers in all age groups. MMORE was founded by Nancy Kaufmann and Steve Fink in 2008 to honor their daughter, Sarah, who was diagnosed with the disease. Sarah, now 26, is in remission after a treatment regimen that included chemotherapy, radiation and a stem-cell transplant.# # #
