COLUMBUS, Ohio – The second annual MoveMMORE 5K Run/Walk for Multiple Myeloma Research takes place at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 at Fred Beekman Park, located at the corner of Kenny Road and Lane Avenue. The event also includes a one-mile run/walk starting at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit multiple myeloma research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute through MMORE, a grassroots organization dedicated to multiple myeloma research and education.

The event features food, drinks, and prize drawings. All participants receive a technical race T-shirt, and awards are given to the top three finishers in all age groups. There will be chip timing for 5K runners. Pre-registration is $25, and day of registration, starting at 7 a.m., is $30. Register online at www.mmore.org. For more information, contact info@mmore.org or call 1-888-486-4240.

MMORE was founded by Nancy Kaufmann and Steve Fink in 2008 to honor their daughter, Sarah, who was diagnosed with the disease. Sarah, now 26, is in remission after a treatment regimen that included chemotherapy, radiation and a stem-cell transplant.
