COLUMBUS, Ohio – Community members are invited to attend a breast cancer conference with Dr. Charles L. Shapiro, professor of medical oncology and director of breast medical oncology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James). The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Martha Morehouse Medical Pavilion Auditorium, 2050 Kenny Road.
Shapiro will discuss medical oncology updates, as well as breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Dr. Maryam Lustberg, a breast oncologist at OSUCCC – James, will discuss survivorship issues and initiatives at The James. Dietitians Beth Grainger and Ashley Harris with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center will provide an overview on nutrition recommendations for breast cancer patients. Dr. Pankaj Tiwari, a plastic surgery physician at OSUCCC– James, will discuss reconstruction options for patients. Additional presentations by experts will focus on the radiation oncology services offered at The James.
