Referring Physicians

As a physician, you deliver few messages more terrifying to your patients than those three short words, “You have cancer” — words that alter their lives by starting them on a difficult and unwanted journey with an uncertain outcome.

At the OSUCCC – James, we know there is no routine cancer. Our multidisciplinary teams include surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, oncology nurses, researchers, genomics experts and others, each of whom specialize in just one type of cancer. These teams collaborate to understand your patient’s cancer at the molecular and genetic levels and then develop and deliver the world’s most targeted therapies.

We are one of only 41 comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, as designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Our more than 300 cancer researchers come from 12 of the 14 colleges at Ohio State and our 200 subspecialized oncologists team up to translate laboratory and clinical studies into innovative targeted treatments that lead to improving outcomes, faster responses, fewer side effects and more hope.
