Research Interest

Breast Neoplasms, DNA Damage

Dr. Parvin's research involves the biological processes involved in breast cancer.  His lab focuses on pathways regulated by the BRCA1 and BRCA2 tumor suppressor proteins, and these include the repair of DNA damage, control of transcription, control of cell cycle progression, and centrosome control.  Dr. Parvin uses a variety of methods that include the use of informatics to generate hypotheses and biochemical and molecular biology experiments using tissue culture models.
