Dr. Shields is a medical oncologist with a focus on the treatment of lung cancer. His research interests are in prevention, with a focus on lung cancer and breast cancer. He studies the causes of cancer and develops biomarkers of cancer risk in order to develop more rational prevention methods and improve early detection of cancer.
