The Clinical Trials Office (CTO) facilitates development and implementation of all OSUCCC – James clinical trials, including regulatory processing, subject recruitment, data collection, and protocol-management services. By centralizing all of these services, this shared resource helps investigators conduct methodologically sound, expedient and cost-effective clinical trials.
The CTO maintains six specialized disease teams of study personnel:

Steven Devine, MD, is a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Hematology and a member of the Leukemia Research Program at the OSUCCC – James. Within the Division of Hematology, he directs the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program.
Dr. Devine’s clinical and research interests include acute and chronic leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), myeloma and stem cell transplantation and mobilization.
He earned his MD at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, then completed a residency at Michael Reese Medical Center and a fellowship at Emory University Hospital, University of Chicago. Dr. Devine joined Ohio State’s faculty in 2005 after being recruited from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.
Bhuvaneswari Ramaswamy, MBBS, MRCP, is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Medical Oncology at Ohio State, where she also is a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James. In addition, Dr. Ramaswamy serves as medical director of clinical trials for solid tumors and as director of the Breast Cancer Medical Oncology Fellowship Program.
She earned her MBBS at Kilpauk Medical College in India and her MRCP at The Royal College of Physicians in London. Her training included a breast fellowship for clinical translational investigators. Dr. Ramaswamy’s research includes experimental therapeutics and overcoming endocrine resistance. She joined Ohio State’s faculty in 2006 and provides clinical care to women with all stages of invasive breast cancer.
