Hazardous Chemical Waste: visit http://ehs.osu.edu/EnvAffairs/HazardousCW.aspx.

Select appropriate resources from right column under Documents including:

Select appropriate resources from right column under Documents including:

  2. Waste Storage and Packaging
  3. Infectious Waste Packaging Procedure

Disposal Requests—Chemical and Biological Waste

  • To dispose of infection biological or hazardous chemical waste, visit the EHS web service site at https://ehs.osu.edu and select “Hazardous Waste Requests” at the bottom of the screen.
  • A new screen will appear and you should login with your OSU (lastname.#) credentials.
  • Select “Hazardous Waste Services” and follow the instructions. 
    • Remember to select and fill-out the location information! 
    • NOTE: the Universal pickup tab can be used for batteries, light bulbs, and other non-chemical/biological substances.

 Glassware Disposal

  • Glassware disposal techniques vary by location.
  • Visit http://ehs.osu.edu/EnvAffairs/InfectiousBW.aspx and select the appropriate file (Main Campus Procedures or Polaris Innovation Center Procedures) under Documents and Glassware Disposal Flowcharts (right hand column) for the approved methods in your area.
  • Once appropriately stored, submit a disposal request as outlined in the previous section (above).
