2011 Summer Interns

	Blessing is currently a senior majoring in Biology at The Ohio State University. He was mentored by Dr. Chris Weghorst. Blessing spent his summer examining stress and the serotonin transporter 5-HTTLPR genotype on depression in Appalachian women.
	Kai is now a junior majoring in Biology at Macalester College. He was mentored by Dr. Mack Ruffin. Using geographic information systems (GIS) software, Kai’s project focused on the spatial distribution of abnormal Papanicolaou (Pap) tests and high risk social and biological cofactors based on subject residence and indentified clustering of high risk cofactors in three clinics in Appalachia Ohio.
