- Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention
General Research Interest
Cancer Chemoprevention, Chemical Carcinogenesis, Epigenetic Mechanisms Research Description
Current research involves identification of new chemopreventive agents, and determination of their efficacy and mechanism of action. The identification and determination of the efficacy of new chemopreventive agents has focused on drugs including NSAIDs, retinoids, and HDAC inhibitors. The efficacy studies have also focused on the use of combinations of chemopreventive agents administered either together or sequentially. The mechanism studies are determining the mechanism by which chemopreventive agents slow the progression to cancer. These studies have mainly investigated epigenetic mechanisms.
