The James Hosts State Representative Anne Gonzales

OSUCCC-James leaders discussed several issues of importance to the cancer community with Ohio Rep. Anne Gonzales during her April 8 visit to the hospital.  Gonzales represents the state's 19th District.

Jennifer Carlson, assistant vice president for government affairs at the OSUCCC-James, talked about budget initiatives around managed care contracting and the possible expansion of revenue for The James through its work with the Ohio Cancer Incidence Surveillance System.

Dawn Allain, a genetic counselor, discussed the importance of enacting legislation that would require genetic counselors to be licensed by the state.  With no current regulation, inadequately trained individuals can make costly and potentially life-threatening mistakes.
