TOPPING OUT CEREMONY AT THE NEW JAMES

Before the final bean for hte struture of the new hsopital was raised into position during a "Topping Out" ceremony on May 21, Ohio State hosted nurerous public officials for a briefing about construction and benefits of the new hospital.

BEAM SIGNING AT THE STATEHOUSE

Governor Kasich, First Lady Karen Kasich, and numerous Ohio legislators joined the public at the Ohio Statehouse in signing one of the final beams to be placed in the OSU Wexner Medical Center expansion, new James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute and Critical Care Center.

STATE SEN. JIM HUGHES TOURS THE HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION SITE

Senator Hughes' visit was part of ongoing efforts to education policymakers about the development of a world-class factility and its benefits for patient care, education and research.

SECRETARY SEBELIUS AND SEN. BROWN VIST THE NEW JAMES

On February 24, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown visited Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center to tour the construction site for the new James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute and Critical Care Tower Expansion.

CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION STAFF TAKE PART IN 'PROJECT MEDICAL EDUCATION'

A dozen health policy staffer from Ohio's congressional delegation visited Ohio State February 21 - 22 to participate in Project Medical Education, an educational program designed for legislative and opinion leaders.

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown will work with OSUCCC-James to explore legislative action to address a drug-shortage crisis affecting hospitals and patient care across the nation.
