Pelotonia 16 Raises Over $24 Million for Cancer Research at Ohio State
Pelotonia 16, the eighth installment of an annual grassroots bicycle tour that raises money for cancer research at the OSUCCC – James, raised a record $24,104,432, pushing the eight-year total past $130 million. Donors from all 50 states and more than 60 countries contributed to the funds raised by the event’s 275 pelotons (riding groups). Specifically, when the 2016 tour unfolded Aug. 6-7 between Columbus and Gambier, Ohio (home to Kenyon College), 7,749 riders and 2,790 volunteers from 40 states and eight countries participated in six routes that ranged from 25 to 180 miles.
