Christmas to Cure Cancer
Congratulations to the A Christmas to Cure Cancer, which celebrated its 10th annual event at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and an impressive effort in raising over $65,000 for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. The Anne M. Wolf Foundation Donates $20,000 to Breast Cancer Research
The Anne M. Wolf Foundation Board of Directors presented Dr. Charles Shapiro and Chris Spielman with a $20,000 check. The Foundation’s inspiration, Anne M. Wolf, lost her life to Triple Negative Breast Cancer at the age of 29 after a four-month battle with the disease. For more information about the Foundation, visit www.annesarmy.org.
Since she was eight, twelve-year-old Dakota Elliott has been asking for donations instead of birthday presents and donating them to a different charity each year. Dakota choose The Stefanie Spielman Fund this year after meeting and being touched by Maddie Spielman, who was her summer camp mentor. Dakota raised $500 and – along with her sister Sophia and her grandmother - went on a tour of the new Breast Center. Kokosing Construction Co., Inc. and Corna/Kokosing
The Westerville office of Kokosing Construction Co., Inc. and Corna/Kokosing Construction Co. organized a day to raise funds for The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. Chris Spielman spoke at their winter meeting a few years ago and, as a result, the companies initiated a tradition of contributing to the Fund. This year the group raised and donated $420 to the Fund. Pictured are the Kokosing Westerville office employees.
Muth & Company Roofing
During the month of October, 2011, Muth & Company Roofing of Columbus donated a percentage of their sales to the Stefanie Spielman Fund. This first-year initiative raised $13,309 for the Spielman Fund. Shown here are Steve Brown, Gina Muth, Chad Muth, Katie Brennan, Tye Lang and Kim Lang.
The Friends of Jason Gould Foundation
The Friends of Jason Gould Foundation held its third annual fundraiser on September 10, 2011. Jason’s Hogfan Party raised $20,000 for leukemia and lymphoma research at the OSUCCC – James. The event is held in memory of Jason Gould, who passed away in 2006 from complications following a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. For more information, visit www.friendsofjasongould.com.
Friends of Woody
The Fifth Annual “Friends of Woody” golf scramble raised $10,500 for the research of Dr. Steven Clinton in the Prostate and Genitiourinary Oncology Clinic at The OSUCCC – James. The event honors the memory of Woody Dillion. To date, $45,200 has been donated to the fund.
