Delivering Something Delicious in Support of Health Care Workers

Health care workers have spent long hours at the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. The community has demonstrated an overwhelming desire to provide comfort to those on the front lines.

We Are All In This Together (WAAITT) was kicked off by Homage, Pelotonia, Jeni’s, The Roosevelt Coffeehouse and Hot Chicken Takeover with a goal of providing sustenance and comfort to those directly at risk during the COVID-19 crisis. The partnership has reinvested in underutilized restaurant kitchens to meet demand for safely prepared meals.

More than 830 free take-and-bake meals were provided to OSUCCC – James health care workers this past April through June. Each meal included four to six servings and was prepared by local restaurants.

Cori McCullough, OTR/L, CBIS, says the meal meant a lot to her. “It took a huge load off to be able to go home and have dinner ready with limited cleanup and just be able to relax for an evening together. We are so grateful to this program ... during this strange and stressful time.”
