The second annual Buckeyes FORE Cancer Research golf tournament was held Monday, Aug. 4 at The Lakes Golf & Country Club in Westerville, Ohio.
Tournament Chairman Mark Thomas, his friends and colleagues, started Buckeyes FORE Cancer Research in 2007 to raise awareness and money to fund critical cancer research by the brightest doctors and scientists to beat this dreaded disease once and for all. In the 2008 event, 30 PGA professionals paired with amateurs for each foursome. The event raised money through silent and live auctions, tournament fees, sponsorships and private donations. After the golfing was complete. Chris Spielman broke down the fall 2008 college football season for attendees.
Proceeds from the Pro-Am golf tournament benefited cancer research projects at The James and the Spielman Fund. For more information on this event, visit buckeyesforecancerresearch.org.
