Angel Open Donates $31,000 to the Spielman Fund

A longtime supporter of the Spielman Fund, the Angel Open golf outing raised an astounding $31,000 at its ninth annual event at Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander Friday, May 29, 2009. Since the event’s inception in 2001, this event has raised over $132,000 for The James.

Touched by cancer in a deep way, the dedicated event organizers Keith Hamilton, Bob Coonfare and Larry Wilson created the tournament in memorial of Keith’s sister Kelley, Bob’s wife Judy and Larry’s wife Jan.

The four-person scramble had both a morning session and an afternoon session to accommodate the large number of participants. Lunch and dinner were provided through sponsorships. The fun included a longest drive competition, longest putt, closest to the pin on a tee shot and closest to the pin in two shots. For more information on this event, visit www.angelopen.com.
