Three Energy Cooperatives Are Fueling the Cure 2009 Champions

United Landmark, Southwest Landmark and Heritage cooperatives have kicked off a year-long collaborative fundraising initiative called Fueling the Cure to support the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the OSUCCC – James. The campaign was formally announced at the Farm Science Review in London, Ohio, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009.

The three cooperatives are committed to donating a total of 30,000 and to raising additional funds through employee and customer contributions, because they feel that Ohio State’s cancer program serves a wide range of people across Ohio, including many in their service regions. Melanie Wilt, public relations representative for the cooperatives, says that it is important for them to help raise awareness for a special program that is already making a significant impact with their customers.

In celebration of the initiative, each cooperative division will deploy a pink propane truck to serve both residential and commercial customers in central, southwest and north central Ohio starting October 2009.

The OSUCCC – James and the Spielman Fund are excited about teaming up with yet another committed set of community partners. For more information, visit www.fuelingthecure.org.
