Founder of Stefanie’s Team of Hope, Shannon Peterson, reflected on hitting this major milestone: “We have the most amazing and passionate team; they are committed to ending cancer. We couldn’t have reached this milestone without the continued support of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, the Pelotonia staff, and the Spielman and Fitz families.”
Stefanie’s Team of Hope was founded in 2010 in honor of Stefanie Spielman and has been a part of Team Buckeye for the last three years. The team’s mission is to celebrate Stefanie’s life, further her legacy and raise awareness for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research by participating in Pelotonia.
Founded in 2008, Pelotonia was established with the objective to fund innovative cancer research. Pelotonia is a three-day experience that includes a weekend of cycling, entertainment and volunteerism. Every participant-raised dollar goes to cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
