SUBARU SHARE THE LOVE
In 2022, Byers Subaru Dublin once again chose the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research as a Hometown Charity during the Subaru Share the Love event. Byers Subaru Dublin spreads love and support to the Spielman Fund with a generous $50,000 donation, totaling over $600,000 over the past 10 years. Along with Subaru of America, Byers donated $300 per vehicle sold during the Subaru Share the Love Event. They invite their customers to join them in sharing the love and making a difference in the lives of those in need. The OSUCCC – James could not be more grateful for the incredible contribution Byers Subaru Dublin and the Share the Love program make toward helping us create a cancer-free world.
CHIX WITH STIX
Chix with Stix hosted their 24th annual ladies-only golf outing on Sept. 9, 2022, at Raymond Memorial Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio. This long-running fundraiser supports the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research and is offered to all Columbus architects and designers. For this spirited group, the focus is not on their golf scores but on raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research and honoring survivors as they continue to fight. The always-popular team costumes were on full display throughout the day, demonstrating participants’ creativity and passion for the cause. The 2022 outing raised $27,500, bringing the 24-year total to more than $600,000 raised.
LIFE’S SHORT, EAT DESSERT FIRST
When Paula Brose received her breast cancer diagnosis in 2007, her life changed in the blink of an eye. Now a breast cancer survivor for more than 15 years, thanks to the expertise of her oncology team at the OSUCCC – James, Brose has found a sweet way to give back. “Before I was diagnosed, I had several friends who had gone through breast cancer treatment,” Brose says. “However, I quickly learned how very little I knew about the journey I was about to take. This led me to realize I needed to do whatever I could to give back.” With her annual Community Partner event, Life’s Short, Eat Dessert First, Paula has raised more than $158,000 for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. Each year, 100-150 friends, family and supporters gather for delicious homemade desserts, a fabulous silent auction, raffles, prizes and more, all in the name of raising money to fight breast cancer. “I've experienced many silver linings since my diagnosis,” Brose adds. “Life is short, and I've learned there is much to celebrate after breast cancer.”
