Adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients are getting some much-needed support from the Columbus community. AYA cancers usually occur between the ages of 15 and 39, and present unique challenges to patients, who must navigate their new normals while dealing with the initial shock of cancer diagnoses when they’re relatively young. Experts at The James are working to meet the needs of these young patients through clinical care, research and support programs. Their efforts are boosted by central Ohioans who raise and contribute funds through community events, including the upcoming Columbus Mac & Cheese Festival, which will take place Friday, October 5 at Easton Town Center.
