Comprehensive colorectal cancer care at Ohio State means tailored treatment plans for today's patients and innovative new therapies for the future. Colorectal cancers, like most forms of the disease, can be treated with various methods, which can often complement each other, including chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. At the OSUCCC – James, a dedicated team of doctors and other experts team up to provide each of these care options to patients, while researchers work to improve treatment in the future. “The James has a very rich colorectal cancer research program. We do lots of different things, including clinical trials,” Matthew F. Kalady, MD, says. “One of my main interests is looking at the genetics within tumors themselves and finding out why some of the changes that happen within them cause certain treatments not to work.”
