Ohio State researchers are working to improve the treatment of breast cancers that spread by studying communication within patients’ bodies. Dr. Gina Sizemore and colleagues are studying ways that breast cancer cells talk to the brains of patients in hope of discovering therapies that could block that communication. Dr. Sizemore’s research could one day help improve treatments for patients with metastatic breast cancer. “It’s very difficult to treat, and I wanted to do something that had a huge impact,” Sizemore says.
