Two Sundays ago, on November 9, more than 9,000 community members toured the new James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute during the OSUCCC – James’ community open house. At the open house, Tracy Townsend, WBNS 10TV News Anchor, sat down and spoke with OSUCCC – James cancer patient and survivor John Schueler. As a cancer survivor who was given six weeks to live more than two years ago, John states that if he had not have come to the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute for treatment, he would not be around today. At the new James, cancer patients will be treated in a transformational facility that is designed to integrate scientific research, education and innovative patient care more closely than ever before. John described The James as “the best place in the world to come if you have cancer.” He says the new state-of-the-art facility is “wonderful.” The new James opens on December 15, 2014.
