On Nov. 9, 2014, thousands of members of the Columbus community visited The Ohio State University campus for a firsthand look inside the new home of the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.“It’s unbelievable,” says Virginia McCammon, a cancer survivor who toured the new James. “This is far better than I imagined.”The new James is designed to prevent, detect, treat and cure your cancer. With 21 floors, the hospital has inpatient units dedicated to one specific type of cancer, moving us closer to a cancer-free world.“For 44 years, I’ve lived longer than I might have lived,” McCammon says. “I know we’re getting close, because every time I come in for a treatment of some kind, it’s changed and it’s improved.”Hear more on this week’s segment of Toward a Cancer-Free World.
