Occupational Therapy at The James
Side effects from cancer or its treatment may prevent you from performing the activities (occupations) that are important to you. These difficulties may occur at any point during your cancer journey. You may experience changes in the following, which may result in difficulty doing things like getting dressed and preparing meals:
- Movement ability
- Muscle strength
- Pain or posture
Occupational Therapy can help you:
- Manage fatigue and help maintain your energy to complete daily activities.
- Focus on activities and exercises that will help improve your range of motion and strength needed for daily activities.
- Learn techniques that will decrease your pain and improve stress management.
Our goal at the OSUCCC – James is to improve your quality of life and general well-being by helping you return to doing the things you want and need to do.
If you are interested in meeting with an OSUCCC – James occupational therapist for a personalized consultation, please ask your physician for a referral.
