Ohio State Mobile Mammography Ensures Breast Cancer Care in Underserved Communities

Ohio State's state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit is on the road, making 3D breast cancer screening more accessible to women across the Buckeye State.

The mobile units allow breast cancer experts from the OSUCCC – James to provide world-class mammography services to women in underserved communities, which can have significant impacts on prevention and treatment.

"It’s very hard for them to get screened because they don't have health institutes in their areas," Vianela Cepeda, CHW, says. "So we're trying to break that barrier and at the same time lower the mortality rate for cancer."
