More than 400 Corporate and Community Partners raise funds every year to further research, education and patient care at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James). One of our community partners, Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, hosts local events throughout the year to benefit the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research at the OSUCCC  – James. In the past 10 years, Buckeye Cruise for Cancer has helped raise more than 10 million dollars for cancer research. Please consider joining us for the following events to help support our mission of creating a cancer-free world. These events are all hosted by the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer that benefit the Meyer Fund. ATO Casino Night: Saturday, April 8 The 13th annual Casino Night hosted by Alpha Tau Omega will take place at the Ohio Union. The night will include a variety of casino games and the opportunity to win prizes, including cruises, golf rounds and autographed sports memorabilia. To date, the event has raised over $330,000 for the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research at the OSUCCC – James. Buckeye Country Superfest 50/50: Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11 Join us and your favorite country artists, Kenney Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban, at Ohio Stadium for the 3rd annual Buckeye Country Superfest. The star studded lineup will also include Billy Currington, Kip Moore and Jana Kramer.  While enjoying the festival, pick up a Buckeye Cruise for Cancer 50/50 ticket to support the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research. 97.1 The Fan Golf Classic: Monday, June 19 The Signature Cabinetry 97.1 The Fan Golf Classic, presented by Delta Dental of Ohio benefits the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer and the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research at the OSUCCC – James and will be located at Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club. You can join us for one of two shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Each golfer will enjoy a fun round of golf, tee gift from Titleist, a gift bag, a meet and greet with sports and radio celebrities and plenty of prizes throughout the day. Help us “Tackle All Cancers” and sign up today! JR Memorial Cruise for a Cure: Saturday, June 24 The 5th annual J.R. Memorial ‘Cruise for a Cure’ benefits the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research at the OSUCCC – James. The all-day event will have live entertainment, raffles, a silent auction, and food and drink available for purchase. Kuhlwein Farms Nights at the Races: Saturday, Aug. 19 The Kuhlwein Farms Nights at the Races will take place at Kuhlwein Farms, located at 8579 Long Rd., Ostrander, OH 43061. Join us for a family-friendly night with food, activities and virtual horse racing. St. Marys Tailgate for Cancer: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6 and 7 This two day annual tailgate includes live musical entertainment, raffles, football and a 5k walk/run. Proceeds from this event benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. This year, the event will take place at the Eagles parking lot, located at 404 E. Spring Street St Marys, OH  45885. The Ohio State Four-Miler: Sunday, Oct. 22, start time 10:00 am The 4th annual Ohio State Four-Miler benefits the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research at the OSUCCC – James. Participants of the largest four-miler running and walking event in the country will go on a four-mile tour of the campus and finish on the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium. The event will include former Ohio State athletes such as Scoonie Penn, Raymont Harris, Bobby Carpenter, Anthony Schlegel, Ryan Miller, William White, Justin Zwick, J.J. Sullinger and Dimitrious Stanley, as well as Brutus Buckeye and the Ohio State cheerleaders. Be sure to attend the Post-Race Tailgate Party held outside Ohio Stadium before or after the race.
