Drug Take-Back Receptacle
The Ohio State University Outpatient Pharmacy has launched a Drug Take-Back Program that offers a convenient way for patients, visitors, employees and students to safely dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications. A Drug Take-Back Receptacle is located in the Outpatient Pharmacy on the conference level of The James.
Through this program, Ohio State is taking an important step by helping to keep these drugs from causing harm or having a negative environmental impact and by supporting the strategic efforts to further our sustainable practices.

As a full-service pharmacy, we pride ourselves on providing truly personalized patient care. We monitor patients’ specialty medications and progress through a disease-specific Patient Management Program. This program is designed to provide benefits such as managing side effects, increasing adherence to complex specialty drug therapies and overall improvement of your health.

Our home delivery program provides a streamlined, convenient method for refills of maintenance (non-controlled, non-specialty) medications delivered right to your door.

Urgent Questions or Needs
If you have an urgent medication question or need, please call the pharmacy at 614-685-1672 (Toll-Free: 844-511-5891) during the times listed above. For urgent medication matters after hours, that can’t wait until the next business day, please call 614-293-8000 and ask for the specialty pharmacist on call to be paged. For all life-threatening emergencies, please call 911.
Patient Education Materials
Ohio State’s Patient Education Department provides access to easy-to-understand health information to help patients to actively participate in their care, and to achieve a level of understanding of their diagnoses and medications. The Patient Education website at patienteducation.osumc.edu has an extensive inventory of resources, with many handouts available in multiple languages. In addition to individual handouts, there are educational videos specific to a diagnosis, treatment or procedure.
