More info forI am a surgical oncologist who specializes in treating patients with breast cancer and other breast-related disease. I was named to the Castle Connolly list of “Regional Top Doctors” from 2011-2019. My research interests primarily focus on radio-guided surgery technologies and the role of surgical oncology and imaging in cancer surgery and cancer care. I have developed strategies for perioperative and intraoperative tumor detection and imaging. I have also developed tumor-directed surgical and non-surgical therapeutic interventions using molecular targeting agents. I strongly believe in adopting these technologies within the context of a multidisciplinary approach to treat patients with cancer. Many studies have shown that adopting these approaches, as we have done at The Ohio State University, can lead to better outcomes for patients. I have presented and published extensively within several arenas of surgical oncology, such as sentinel lymph node mapping and biopsy technology, minimally invasive breast biopsy technology, perioperative and intraoperative detection, and imaging technology, among other areas. I am the co-editor/co-author of a 2016 Springer Nature book representing a comprehensive overview on the state-of-the-art practice of numerous radio-guided surgical applications within all surgical subspecialties. I have served on the editorial boards of many scientific journals, as well as serving as the section editor for the Surgical Oncology, Cancer Imaging and Interventional Therapeutics section of the journal BMC Cancer from 2012 to 2017. Additionally, I was awarded the 2015 Section Editor of the Year Award and have served as a consulting editor for BMC Cancer since 2017.

Dr. Pavoski is a wonderful doctor (and I am beyond thankful for his knowledge and abilities) -- he doesn't excel at personal interactions/discussions, but gives concise and important information when asked. This was an annual appointment and there wasn't much to discuss, other than "everything is fine." As such, he didn't offer much unless asked directly.
I like Dr. Povoski. I trust him.

I am confident in Dr. Povoski. He has been my doctor over 20 years. He tells me the truth and listens to my concerns. I have referred 2 friends/family to him when they got breast cancer. He took good care of them and they are thriving even past 5 years of their diagnosis. Now I am a week away from a bilateral mastectomy to be preformed by Dr. Povoski and I rest assured I am I good hands.
Dr. Povoski is very "dry". He does NOT spend any extra time answering questions! It is very intimidating! His time with me was limited. If he spent 2 minutes in the room with me it was too much. He is very cold. Always rushing. Not happy with his approach to me. He is just in the room. He does NOT show any interest in patient. It looks like it is too much for him ask any questions or answer any question. Not interested in the patient whatsoever. I am intimidated actually to come for my follow ups.
Dr Povoski is an excellent doctor-very thorough.
