I am a general thoracic surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Thoracic Surgery. I specialize in the treatment of thoracic malignancies including lung cancer, esophageal cancer and mediastinal tumors. My research interests include improving surgical outcomes in the treatment of lung cancer, robotic surgery and surgical simulation.
I completed my general surgical training at Yale New Haven Hospital – Saint Raphael and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic. Prior to my faculty appointment in 2016 I was the director of minimally invasive thoracic surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
I am board certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS). I have authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. In addition, I have given numerous regional and national presentations.
I am intricately involved in the training and education of thoracic surgery trainees, residents and medical students at Ohio State. Besides thoracic surgery, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and working out.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the university requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their university responsibilities. As of 3/26/2018, Dr. D'Souza has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
