Research Program: Translational Therapeutics
About Me
More info forI am a radiation oncologist who specializes in treating patients with gastrointestinal cancers. I work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including surgeons and medical oncologists to deliver top-notch care to our patients using specialized treatment modalities like stereotactic body radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and Y-90 radioembolization. As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James, my research focuses on incorporating innovative functional imagining modalities in radiation therapy and developing novel therapies for the prevention of normal tissue toxicity from radiation therapy with a focus on heart toxicity. I am also interested in conducting clinical trials that combine targeted systemic agents with radiation to develop more effective treatments for patients. I have authored and co-authored numerous articles in publications such as the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, Radiation Oncology, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Frontiers in Oncology, and Journal of the National Cancer Institute. I am also a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the American Society for Clinical Oncology, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guideline committee for colon, rectal, anal and small bowel cancers. I am honored to work as part of a team that helps patients through one of the most difficult experiences of their lives. I enjoy educating patients on their treatment options at the initial consultation appointment, helping them through treatment and providing continued care once treatment is complete. At the OSUCCC – James, we believe that there’s no routine cancer, and it’s exciting to be part of a cancer program that is committed to delivering the best possible care to every patient.
