I am a nurse practitioner in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at The James, where I work with our extraordinary team to diagnose and treat a variety of gynecologic cancers. I have a passion for women's health and oncology, and the opportunity to combine them into one profession has been very rewarding. It is incredible being able to work towards The James’ mission of creating a cancer-free world on a daily basis. We have a unique approach to cancer care here at The James through our multidisciplinary teams, working with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, researchers and patient care associates to bring the best possible and most up-to-date care to our patients. Our department is unique in the fact that our gynecologic oncologists are both medical and surgical oncologists, therefore, we see our patients through each step of the diagnostic, treatment and surveillance stages. We really get to know our patients and their families on a personal level, which makes this career all the more special. I feel very privileged to be able to care for our patients at one of the most vulnerable times of their lives and to be part of an incredible team that shares a passion for gynecologic oncology as well as patient-centered care. I am excited each day to care for our patients and their families, as well as to see the many advancements that we make in this field through research and clinical trials.
