I’m a medical oncologist who treats patients with all types of gastrointestinal cancers, which include colorectal, small bowel, esophageal, gastric, liver, pancreatic, biliary, anal and neuroendocrine tumors. I also serve as an assistant professor of internal medicine for The Ohio State University.
It’s a pleasure to work at the OSUCCC – James because of its world-class providers, researchers, facilities and resources. I perform research in experimental therapeutics and drug development through clinical trials for patients. I’m also interested in understanding the genomics of these tumors and finding ways to target them more specifically for improved patient outcomes.
At The James, my patients have access to cutting-edge research in the form of clinical trials and multidisciplinary expertise. Foremost is the understanding and compassionate medical care we provide to our patients. They are the reason we never stop working toward a cure.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies, etc. because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities. As of 03/25/2016, Dr. Ciombor has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies, etc.
