About Me
More info forAs a hematologist at the OSUCCC – James, I primarily care for patients diagnosed with lymphoid malignancies. I perform allogeneic and autologous bone marrow transplant (BMT) procedures and provide CAR T-cell therapy. I also serve as an assistant professor in the Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. My passion for cellular therapies dates back to medical school, when I learned of a young girl with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) who had run out of treatment options. Her medical team tried an experimental immunotherapy, now known as CAR T-cell therapy, which saved the girl’s life and led to her being cured of the disease. This case inspired me to devote my career to finding cures for cancer by building upon the power of our natural immune system. My research is centered on optimizing existing cellular therapies and developing advanced therapies to improve patient outcomes. I have coauthored multiple articles published in peer-reviewed journals and I received a Young Investigator award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology for my work. I have also presented my research before national conferences as well as locally. I was honored to deliver my “CAR-T Cell Therapy: A New Approach in Cancer Treatment” presentation during The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Grand Rounds. Here at The James, I work in the clinic on early-phase clinical trials and am currently serve as principal or co-investigator on three ongoing projects. Access to the latest cutting-edge research allows us to take what we learn in the lab and efficiently apply it in ways that enhance the treatments our patients receive. Few other institutions are capable of providing this type of care and I’m proud to be part of the hematology team. Everyone here at The James is exceptionally motivated to deliver the best care possible for our cancer patients, which creates a shared sense of community and purpose that I deeply appreciate every day.
