As a medical oncologist I specialize in treating patients with advanced prostate and colorectal cancers, including soft tissue sarcoma. Additionally, I serve as an assistant professor of internal medicine, an assistant professor in the department of pharmacology and a member of the Experimental Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James.

I am a research specialist in genomics and tumor DNA sequencing, working on identifying specific cancer therapies that target molecules involved in the progression of cancer. Our multi-disciplinary team evaluates and cares for patients through clinical trials, matches patients to new smart drugs and studies how the drugs impact the cancer.

Proud to be a Buckeye, I earned my undergraduate degree in molecular genetics at Ohio State, and also received my medical degree and a doctorate in immunology here. Since 2012, I have been developing clinical trials focused on genomic alterations.

I’m very proud of the work we do here at OSUCCC – James. It’s an extremely collaborative environment that allows us to develop innovative clinical trials based on the research we do, with the ultimate goal of helping patients enjoy a longer life.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the university requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their university responsibilities. As of 3/28/2017, Dr. Roychowdhury has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
