  • About Me

As a urologic oncologist, I specialize in surgery for prostate, kidney, testicular, penile, bladder, adrenal, urethral and ureteral cancer. My role is to help patients determine if an operation is needed for their condition and then performing this surgery by open, robotic, laparoscopic or endoscopic techniques. My approach to cancer care is comprehensive and patient-focused. I prioritize understanding my patients’ main concerns, as this helps me to tailor a treatment plan consistent with these goals. Clear communication is essential, and I strive to ensure that patients and their families fully understand everything about their disease and care plan. Although my primary focus is on surgery, I am always keen to recommend patients another option – like surveillance, radiation and more focal therapies – if I think it will suit them better. I am also a big proponent of a multi-disciplinary approach and work closely with my colleagues from other disciplines to best serve my patients. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an assistant professor in the Department of Urology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where I conduct research and educate future surgeons. I have received a number of national awards, including a prestigious Research Scholar Award from the American Urological Association for my work on bladder cancer genomics while at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I have also co-authored numerous peer-reviewed research publications and have presented my findings at international conferences. I am incredibly fortunate to work at The James because I get to do exactly what I am passionate about, which is to care for patients, teach and conduct research at one of the most advanced cancer centers in the country. I truly consider The James second to none.
