About Me
More info forI am a surgical oncologist and serve as the director of the Division of Surgical Oncology at the OSUCCC – James. My unwavering commitment lies in enhancing care for patients with gastrointestinal cancer, and I am internationally recognized for my expertise in pancreatic cancer and related diseases. Driven by a patient-centered approach, I strive to improve access to cutting-edge care for all patients. I advocate for using precision medicine whenever feasible to personalize therapies and for patients’ participation in clinical trials. My ultimate goal is to assemble a comprehensive team of medical professionals who can provide patients and their families with hope and a tailored treatment plan. Beyond my clinical duties, I am dedicated to advancing cancer care for both current and future patients. Collaborating with world-class clinicians and scientists at The James, I am dedicated to accelerating the translation of novel therapies to cancer patients. I firmly believe that integrated partnerships with clinicians and translational researchers are essential for fueling discovery and innovation in cancer treatment. As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at The James, I am also a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded researcher. My research primarily focuses on blood-based biomarkers and precision medicine clinical trials in pancreatic cancer. I have led several investigator-initiated clinical trials in the neoadjuvant setting, including the groundbreaking trial that utilized molecular profiling to guide chemotherapeutic selection. With over 130 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 17 book chapters to my name, I hope to continue to contribute significantly to the field. I also serve on the editorial board for the Journal of GI Surgery and Surgery, as well as serving as an ad-hoc reviewer for including BMC Cancer, JAMA Surgery and Clinical Cancer Research.
