I’m a hematologist specializing in benign hematology and cancer patients with venous thromboembolism. I received my medical training at the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed my residency in internal medicine at the University of California Los Angeles. I was named to the Castle Connolly list of “Regional Top Doctors” in 2019.
My research focuses on thrombosis, and I’m currently serving as the local principal investigator in an international study on the treatment of cancer-associated thrombosis. I co-authored this study’s paper, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2017. My research has also been published in journals such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Thrombosis Research and the Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders. At The Ohio State University, I serve as an assistant professor of Internal Medicine and teach courses on hematology, thrombosis and other bleeding disorders.
What I enjoy most about working at the OSUCCC – James is the availability of cutting-edge research and technology. Because of these resources, we’re able to create multidisciplinary treatment teams to give the best possible outcomes to our patients. In addition, we have access to clinical trial support to ensure that our patients receive the newest care options. The James gives us the ability to treat each patient individually and with the highest level of care.
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the university requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their university responsibilities. As of 11/21/2019, Dr. Wang has reported relationships with the companies or entities listed below. If you have questions about the relationships listed below, please ask the faculty member. If you have questions about how these relationships are monitored by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, please contact our Compliance Office.
The overall patient satisfaction rating is an average of all patient responses to the five questions gathered from the Outpatient Oncology survey, developed by Press Ganey Associates for use in oncology clinics across the country. On behalf of The James, Press Ganey administers the survey to patients who see our providers in an outpatient clinic office. For additional information about the patient satisfaction survey, please visit our Patient Satisfaction Survey page
