About Me
More info forI am an associate professor of Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and an attending physician within the Division of Medical Oncology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. My expertise lies in cellular immunotherapy, with a specific focus on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. I have a keen interest in advancing the clinical utility of adoptive cell therapies across all tumor types while optimizing the clinical management for treatment-related toxicities. Before joining the faculty at The Ohio State University, I served on faculty and as an attending physician at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center/University of Washington School of Medicine and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School. My impactful contributions at these institutions included enhancing clinical infrastructure for delivering cellular immunotherapies, drafting standard operating procedures for managing cytokine release syndrome, overseeing care for hundreds of patients receiving cellular immunotherapies, and mentoring health care providers on the effective management of CAR T-cell/adoptive cell therapy-mediated toxicities. Beyond my clinical and research pursuits, I am deeply passionate about providing humanistic care to my patients. This commitment aligns with my dedication to improving patient outcomes through personalized and compassionate approaches. I received my medical degree from Ohio University, completed my internal medicine residency at The Ohio State University, and pursued a hematology-oncology fellowship at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. I am board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology, and my academic contributions include multiple peer-reviewed publications, authored book chapters and two published texts. My dedication to humanism, teaching and mentoring has been acknowledged through multiple departmental teaching awards and induction into prestigious honor societies, including Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Arnold P Gold Honor Society and a fellowship in the American College of Physicians. Committed to education, I am proud to have successfully mentored students and trainees who have excelled in top-ranked institutions. My ongoing commitment to advancing cellular immunotherapy, contributing to medical literature, nurturing the growth of future health care professionals and providing humanistic care reflects my integrated dedication to collectively improving patient outcomes.
