Lanchun Lu, PhD
Academic Title: Professor in the College of Medicine, College of Engineering
Research Program: Translational Therapeutics
About Me
More info forI am a board-certified medical physicist who specializes in image-guided radiation therapy, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, linear accelerator (linac)-based external beam radiation therapy, and low- and high-dose rate brachytherapy.
As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James, I focus my research on using optical coherence tomography (OCT) to diagnose early-stage pancreatic cancer and treating it with OCT-guided radiation therapy.
I also collaborate with other faculty members within the department and across different departments at The Ohio State University, including a radiation bio-dosimetry project in which I’m in charge of dosimetry and mathematical modeling of the dose prediction.
My work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including Science Translational Medicine, International Journal of Radiation Biology, JCI Insight, Journal of Radiation Oncology and ACS Nano.
Additionally, I received the ASTRO Basic/Translational Senior Investigator Award from the American Society for Radiation Oncology in 2016 and hold a patent for internally-administered radiation therapy using endoscopic image guidance.
