Bench-to-bedside clinical research is being conducted at the OSUCCC – James to improve prevention, detection and treatment of hairy cell leukemia.

The OSUCCC – James HCL Research Program team members include world-renowned specialists and sub-specialists in the prevention, diagnosis, genetic sequencing and treatment of hairy cell leukemia as well as other kinds of leukemia and blood-related diseases.

Our team comprises talented individuals from a multicultural background who strive to reach the highest accomplishment levels while also maintaining a humble demeanor, respecting each other and sharing knowledge. This enables us to extend in a broad range of directions, without fear of failure, to impact and change patients’ lives. How? I am a hematologist who specializes in treating patients with leukemia and other blood cancers.
Christopher Charles Oakes, PhD
As a member of the Leukemia and Hematologic Malignancies Program at the OSUCCC – James, I focus on investigating and understanding the role of epigenetics in normal development and carcinogenesis.

I am a hematologist-oncologist dedicated to advancing the care and treatment of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and autoimmune cytopenias.
