Comprehensive Cancer Center Shared Resources
These are available to CCC members at a reduced cost. CCC members are also given scheduling priority in these facilities. Please see the Shared Resource Guide and the CCC Shared Resources webpage for more detailed information.
Select resources include:
- Bioinformatics
- Biospecimen Services
- Gene Editing (CRISPR-based and other)
- Genomics
- Microscopy (can utilize for protein structure!)
- Proteomics (and metabolomics – can do spatial metabolomics!)
- Small Animal Imaging
The Center for Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) offers a voucher program that is available to all OSU researchers who want to use core facility services at OSU or Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Vouchers can be worth up to $3000 per investigator and per project. For projects with colleagues from 2 or more colleges or institutions, vouchers can increase up to $5,000. Refer to this webpage for more information.
Campus Chemical Instrument Center
Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Group: Together with the CCC Proteomics group, the CCIC MS&P group is able to support analyses ranging from basic, targeted metabolomics and proteomics to structural determination of molecules, isotope-labelled metabolic flux analyses, and spatial metabolomics.
National Resource for Native MS-Guided Structural Biology: Capable of structural determination for large, complex protein structures and aggregates and studying the structural dynamics of interacting proteins and protein complexes
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Core Facility: Similar to the MS&P group, the NMR facility supports high sensitivity metabolomics and other biomolecular studies, solid state probes from biomolecules and materials, atomic-resolution 3D structural determinations of macromolecules, investigation of molecular motions, small molecule interactions, etc.
By the end of 2022, the NMR group will be opening the National Gateway Ultrahigh Field NMR Center. This will include an ultrahigh field 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer.
Resources for Collaboration
Collaboration Visual Database
Are you looking for a collaborator? Part of the CCM’s mission is to serve as a platform for researchers to find collaborators with expertise in the field of cancer metabolism or related fields.
We have developed a “visual database” of collaborators using a 1-slide PowerPoint template. If you are interested in finding a collaborator within the CCM, please fill out the template found in the “Collaborator Database Template” file below. Email that slide to Amber.Hendricks@osumc.edu and you will be added to our central visual database file.
In short, this template allows you to briefly describe your field of research, what you have to offer to a collaboration, and what you would like to gain from a collaboration.
This visual database file is available on request.

Ohio Innovation Exchange
Link: Ohio Innovation Exchange
The Ohio Innovation Exchange (OIEx) is a networking tool developed in part by Jeff Agnoli and the OSU Research and Development Office. It was designed to help researchers not only promote their own research but also find collaborators and understand how their work fits into the wider field of scientific research across the entirety of Ohio. It is almost like a social media profile, except that it is focused specifically on facilitating collaborative research networks. For example, you can find experts in specific topics, researchers with specific technological capabilities, and many other useful things.
Rather than explain all of OIEx’s functions, I encourage you to explore an example profile: Deliang Guo Profile | Ohio Innovation Exchange
Definitely check out the “collaboration network” on the side menu! That is one of the most fascinating tools that OIEx has to offer.
Each faculty member at OSU should have their own profile on the OIEx and it is worth keeping updated. You can contact Jeff Agnoli at Agnoli.1@osu.edu for more information and to update your profile. He and his team can demonstrate the full capabilities of the OIEx and how it can help boost the visibility of your work.
