Nicotine 3D: Studying the Impact of Nicotine Manipulations in E-cigarettes

The Industry has manipulated nicotine form, concentration, and isomer in e-cigarettes. These manipulations have led to increased uptake of e-cigarettes among youth, with limited effects among smokers willing to switch to e-cigarettes. We need your help to understand the Industry’s Nicotine Playbook to Maximize Public Health.

Volunteers should be willing to fill out survey questionnaires and provide blood samples.

Eligibility: Current exclusive young adult e-cigarettes users (21-24 years) or current smokers (25 years) with interest in trying an e-cigarettes.

Sweet Spot 2.0: Finding the Optimal Freebase Nicotine Level that Reduces Appeal for Young Adult Exclusive Users but not Older Adult Smokers

The Industry has manipulated nicotine form in e-cigarettes. These manipulations have led to increased uptake of e-cigarettes among youth, with limited effects among smokers willing to switch to e-cigarettes. We need your help to understand if there is a certain nicotine form manipulation that could dissuade youth EC use yet support smokers willing to switch.

Adult cigarette or smokeless tobacco users from Ohio can help researchers compare the effects of their usual brand of cigarettes or smokeless tobacco to a new product called nicotine pouches.

Human Laboratory Study of Effects of Nicotine Product Claims on Appeal, Perceptions, and Use

You could help Ohio State researchers improve our understanding of novel nicotine products. Adults are invited to participate in a single visit in-person study focused on oral nicotine pouches to better understand what they know, think, and feel about novel nicotine products and their packaging.

The in-person visit will take place in Columbus, Ohio and will take approximately 60 minutes to complete. Participants will be asked to complete survey questionnaires, and view examples of nicotine pouches while we measure heart rate, eye tracking, and skin response.
