Who We Are

Led by cancer research specialist and Principal Investigator Nandini Acharya, PhD, our highly collaborative team of experts comprises talented individuals from multicultural backgrounds who strive to reach the highest accomplishment levels while also maintaining a humble demeanor, respecting each other and sharing knowledge. This enables us to extend in a broad range of directions, without fear of failure, to impact and change patients’ lives.

Throughout her educational training and fellowship, Dr. Acharya has worked to understand the impact of the neuroendocrine axis on the immune system and, subsequently, on cancer. She brings her extensive background and training to the OSUCCC – James, continuing the study of the microenvironment of patients’ tumors. Dr. Acharya, along her team of research specialists and subspecialists, works tirelessly – encouraging novel ideas and approaches – to customize holistic, targeted treatment regimens that are tailored specifically to each patient.

Collaboration with Other Ohio State Labs and Research Teams

The Acharya Lab regularly collaborates with the OSUCCC – James Translational Therapeutics Program, where nationally and internationally recognized cancer researchers translate advances in solid tumor molecular biology and promising preclinical studies into innovative clinical trials designed to improve diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors.

Additionally, the lab collaborates with various staff members at the OSUCCC – James, from other research teams to cancer specialists and subspecialists who share unique perspectives and novel techniques, and who offer new approaches to understanding and analyzing the tumor microenvironment.
