Malith Karunasiri

Malith Karunasiri

Research Laboratory Supervisor
Malith’s inspiration comes from his love of taking on all of the behind-the-scenes tasks necessary for running a successful research laboratory. As he shares, anything involving a computer and not pipettes are his wheelhouse specialties. A native of Pacific Grove, California, Malith has 19 years of experience, and he joined the Ranganathan Lab in March 2023. He received his BS in Molecular Biology from the University of California San Diego and his MS in Biomedical Sciences from The Ohio State University.
Annie Evans Murray

Annie Evans Murray

Graduate Research Associate

Annie is inspired by the immune system’s intricate complexity and the opportunity to increase knowledge surrounding the nuances that shape health and contribute to disease. With her love of solving puzzles and creating order from complexities, Annie brings that same detailed skill set to the lab, helping her team tackle and address serious health issues. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Annie earned her BS in Cellular Biology while also minoring in Spanish at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and she earned her MS in Infection and Immunity from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She joined the Ranganathan Lab in early 2025.

Giorgia Giordano

Giorgia Giordano

Graduate Research Associate

After growing up in Berlin, Germany, Giorgia moved to the United States to earn a BS in Chemical Engineering while also minoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. Driven by deep curiosity and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, Giorgia brings that drive to the lab for her research. She joined the Ranganathan Lab in early 2025, and her research is motivated by the possibility of discovering new insights that can help improve treatment options and ultimately contribute to better health outcomes for patients.

Rathan Kumar

Rathan Kumar

Graduate Research Associate
Rathan joined the Ranganathan Lab in January 2023. His passion for improving patient health care drives him to play an integral role in therapeutic discoveries at the bench and help translate those to the bedside with novel therapeutic outcomes. A native of Boulder, Colorado, Rathan received a BA in molecular, cellular and developmental biology and a BA in biochemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Lotus Neidemire-Colley

Lotus Neidemire-Colley

Graduate Research Associate
Lotus brings her six years of experience to the Ranganathan Lab, where she focuses on untangling the how and why of diseases to determine targetable pathways that can ultimately alleviate morbidities and mortalities. Inspired by working with passionate mentors, collaborators and colleagues, Lotus enjoys seeing the real, bench-to-bedside impact the lab team’s research has on patients’ lives. Lotus grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. She received her BS in Molecular Genetics and a minor in Bioethics from Ohio State.
Camryn Steere

Camryn Steere

Student Research Assistant
Joining the Ranganathan Lab in August 2023, Camryn is inspired by the ability to contribute new research that can lead to novel therapeutics or therapies, all with the intent to improve or even save lives. A native of suburban Philadelphia, Camryn will receive her BS in biomedical engineering from Ohio State in May 2026.
