Sehgal Lab
Meet the Team
Meet the members of the Sehgal Lab at the OSUCCC – James.
Sehgal Lab Members
Lalit Sehgal, PhD, MPhil
Principal Investigator
Dr. Sehgal is a translational scientist and an assistant professor in the Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University. He was trained as a human geneticist and specialize in developing strategies for personalized therapy for lymphoid malignancies. He is also a member of the Leukemia and Hematologic Malignancies Program at the OSUCCC – James, where his research interests include indolent and aggressive B-cell Non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas and multiple myeloma.
More about Lalit Sehgal, PhD, MPhilSatishkumar V. Singh, PhD
Research Scientist
Dr. Singh is dedicated to advancing lymphoma biology and immunology research, focusing on using his scientific expertise to translate research findings into innovative cancer therapies. He received his doctorate from the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research & Education at the Tata Memorial Centre in India.
Sriya Sreekanth
Graduate Student
Sriya is a graduate student who thrives on the idea of treating patients, pushing science forward and changing the lives of patients with cancer, potentially saving lives. Originally from Bangalore, India, Sriya received her BTech in Engineering and Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. Following several years working in the biotech industry, she is now a second-year student in the Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology Program at Ohio State. Her dissertation focuses on the role of CDKN1C in mantle cell lymphoma.
Yuanfeng Wang
Graduate Student
Yuanfeng is a graduate student who wants to contribute to making this a cancer-free world after he and his family experienced cancer on a personal level. Originally from Shanghai, China, Yuanfeng received his BS in Biology from Penn State University and his MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins University. He joined the Sehgal lab in early 2024, and he studies how the lymph node microenvironment, specifically surface receptors such as FGFR1, and cytokines such as IL-6 and IL-8, promote mantle cell lymphoma angiogenesis and progression.
Maxine Berger
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Maxine is a pre-medicine student at Ohio State. She joined the Sehgal Lab in 2022 to expand her knowledge of cancer biology with the hope of paring research practice with a clinical health care career. While majoring in neuroscience and minoring in microbiology, Maxine is investigating the effects of the Bcl-2 inhibiting drug venetoclax on conditions simulating the bone marrow microenvironment. She is a CREATES (Cancer Research Experience for the Advancement and Training of Emerging Scientists) fellowship recipient.
Ayusha Pradhan
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Currently a third-year biology major at Ohio State, Ayusha joined the Sehgal Lab in early 2024, where her focus is on creating mutants to manipulate mantle cell lymphoma, which generally comes from p57 (CDKN1C) and down-regulates MCL cells. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Ayusha intends to attend medical school after graduation.
Audrey Odier
Lab Manager and Research Assistant
Driven by personal and family experiences with cancer, Audrey is a pharmacy student with a desire to assist in providing positive patient outcomes through discovery, development and direct patient care.In the Sehgal Lab, she is studying the effects of CyclinD1 and Sox11 on longitudinal tumor progression. Additionally, she manages the lab’s animal colony to facilitate in vivo studies and, as the lab manager, organizes group meetings and streamlines communication. She will receive her BS in Pharmaceutical Science from Ohio State in Spring 2025 and is a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate for the class of 2028.
Kevin De La Cruz Sanchez
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Kevin is passionate about positively impacting people's health through cancer research to develop effective treatments. Originally from New Jersey, Kevin is a biology major at Ohio State and joined the Sehgal lab in 2024.
