The Translational Oncology and Therapeutics Research Group comprises an international, multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinician-investigators who strive to understand the causes, biology and prevention of cancer.
At the OSUCCC – James, our nationally and internationally recognized experts provide patient-centered care specifically designed to offer comprehensive treatment for older adults with cancer. Research conducted by our world-renowned cancer specialists and sub-specialists plays an important role in designing the very best treatment plans and therapies to target each patient’s cancer.
The Translational Oncology and Therapeutics Research Group investigates vital aspects of hepatic diseases and metastatic cancers, including liver, pancreas and breast cancers. Through projects in basic molecular and translational science, these research specialists are working to uncover new processes that impact disease progression and metastasis, and ultimately to design novel treatments for patients.
Mission
The Translational Oncology and Therapeutics Research Group’s mission is to study the role of tumor microenvironments in cancers, immune and inflammatory responses during disease progression, and how these two key factors interact with one another.
Additional research pursuits explore ways to improve therapeutic efficacy by finding innovative strategies to improve patient outcomes.
